Making your own tea chai blend is easier than you think.

This chai recipe helps to create strong bones, calm the nervous system, boost your immune system and aid in digestion. It's high in calcium, magnesium, antioxidants and anti-inflammatories all nutrients that help achieve the benefits listed. In addition, when you make your own tea blends you eliminate the added processed ingredients commonly found in store bought teas.
This is a great idea if you want to make a supply for yourself or gifts for friends and family.
Some of these ingredients you can find at the store but you might want to check out Mountain Rose Herbs for the less common ingredients.
I got the recipe from the Body into Balance book by Maria Noel Groves. If you're interested in dabbling in herbal remedies check it out :)
Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon nettles
1 teaspoon oat straw
1 teaspoon oatmeal oats
1 pinch licorice root
1 pint dried ginger (you can use fresh too but it wont save)
5 whole cloves
3 thin cardamom pods cracked
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole star anise
Pure maple syrup or raw honey (optional)
alternative milk (optional)
Hot water
Instructions:
Combine all the herbs in a Mortar (this is the one I have). crush and grind the herbs with the pestle until ground up. I find sometimes the cinnamon stick doesn't break down enough so I do use my hands to break it into thinner pieces but that's a preference.
Once combined put a teaspoon in a tea diffuser, place in your mug and pour hot water over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes. You can either leave the diffuser in or take it out, I tend to leave it in.
Next you can add a drop of sweetener either maple syrup or raw honey and mix in your milk.
If you don't want to drink it right away you can package it up to save.
