Acne is my nemesis and it always seems to appear at the least convenient time. I remember the week leading up to my wedding I prayed I wouldn't get my typical stress acne. Luckily I was able to combat any acne wedding crashers with a good spot treatment!
When the breakouts strike, these four spot treatments should do the trick!

#1 Turmeric spot treatment
You have two options here: homemade or buy it
Homemade
All you need to do is mix a little bit of the spice turmeric with some honey and dab it on your zit using a Q-tip. You can feel the tingling sensation after a few minutes of it doing its magic.
Use caution though, turmeric easily can stain; don't leave it on your skin for longer than a few minutes and use a wash cloth you wouldn't mind turning yellow.
Cocokind's Turmeric Stick
For only $9 you can save yourself the hassle and mess of making your own spot treatment and have this stick ready whenever a breakout appears. The stick is made up with a base of sunflower oil and beeswax, combined with turmeric, ginger and tea tree oil. This provides you with an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial powerhouse that can zap the zit, reduce redness, and correct dark spots.

#2 Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is an easy natural remedy that has antibacterial properties to help cleanse the bacteria build-up. This treatment is great if you're about to run out the door & don’t want a visible spot treatment on.
For best results, I recommend mixing a drop of the oil with your daily moisturizer and applying a little of that to the area. It allows the tea tree oil to cleanse the zit while protecting the hydration of the skin around it.

#3 Beautycounter's Countercontrol SOS Acne Spot Treatment
Another great clean beauty option to treat acne is this tube of clear gel! It's made with quality tested ingredients that work to help reduce the blemish and keep the skin in balance. It has saved me from many breakouts and you can buy it for $22 here. I was able to make one tube last several months.

#4 Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
This one is my go-to when I have some of those deep zits arising. It seems to be the only treatment that has really helped stopped the worst of them. I take a Q-tip, apply it to the problem area and leave it on overnight. More often than not, I wake up with the zit reduced or totally gone!
It contains alcohol and salicylic acid which helps dry up the zit. Be careful though, if you use it too often it can dry out the skin around it and cause irritation. So I recommend using this in an acne emergency.
