Dairy free, gluten free, and SO SO GOOD!

We got an air fryer for Christmas and can't stop finding new recipes to make! One day my husband and I accidentally bought way too many onions and he joked I should make onion rings and guess what I did... I whipped up this healthy air fryer onion ring recipe.

My goal was to make it dairy free, gluten free, and tasty!

Ingredients:

Flour mix-

1/2 cup gluten free flour

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp old bay seasoning (optional)

1/2 tsp salt and pepper

Breadcrumb mix-

1/2 cup GF breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp old bay seasoning

1/2 tsp salt and pepper

Other-

2 eggs

1 yellow onion

a little of olive oil to drizzle

Instructions:

  1. Each in their own bowl, create the flour mix, the breadcrumb mix, and whisk the eggs.

  2. Chop the onions to be in ring form. Then you can pop out each layer to create the actual onion ring.

  3. Next, dip an onion ring in the egg & let the excess egg drip off. After, toss the onion ring in the flour mixture until it's coated. Then dip it in the egg again and into the bread crumb mix.

  4. Place the battered rings in the air fryer and drizzle with a little olive oil and cook for five minutes at 350F.

  5. After 5 minutes, flip them over and drizzle with more olive oil and cook another 5 minutes. They're going to get perfectly crispy!

  6. Once they're done, move them to a plate and top with some cracked pink salt.
