Your favorite candy made with quality ingredients

When I started paying attention to the ingredients in my favorite treats, I quickly realized I needed to find healthier alternatives! Over the year I have accumulated a list of some favorite guilt-free candies (shared in my post, Sweet tooth Swaps : Healthier Candy Alternatives) but I also discovered I could make my favorite candy of them all: the Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup.

My version is dairy free, gluten free, and naturally sweetened. When I made these for my husband he couldn’t get enough! I hope you and your loved one’s enjoy them as well. Pin this to your Pinterest board for later.

Ingredients:

6 cupcake liners

Peanut butter filling:

  • 1/3 cup pure peanut butter (made with only peanuts)

  • 1 ½ TBSP pure maple syrup

  • 1 TBSP melted coconut oil

  • 1 TSP vanilla extract

  • 2 TBSP coconut flour

Chocolate layer:

  • 2 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1 TBSP coconut oil

Instructions:

In a muffin tin, place your cupcake liners.

In a microwavable bowl, melt the chocolate and coconut oil together to create chocolate sauce. Then add a thin layer to the bottom of each cupcake liner. After that, pop them in the freezer until hardened (about 5 minutes).

While the chocolate is freezing, mix all the ingredients for the peanut butter filling in a bowl. Once combined, it should be a slightly putty consistency.

When the chocolate in the freezer is ready, take it out and shape the peanut butter into each liner.

Then cover the top of them with the rest of the dark chocolate sauce. As a little bonus, I added sprinkled some sea salt on top.

Lastly, place them pack in the freezer for 10 minutes to let the rest of the chocolate firm up.

These are best kept in the freezer and then slightly thawed when you’re ready to eat one ( or six).

If you make these tag @brittbehealthy, I want to see how yours turn out!
